Galgo - Lugia
“Lugia” is the third single from Galgo’s LP “Pensar Faz Emagrecer”.
It follows up on the narrative told on "Pivot", our main character finds himself being led by a friendly critter that helps him figure out that something might not be right.
I was responsible for the full production of the music video, from narrative, through 3d animation, to final edit, with exception of character and environment concept design done by Rute Soares.
TECHNIQUE
Full 3d pipeline is made with Maya.
Toonboom for 2D animation.
Editing and post with After Effects.
The human models were re-used from "Pivot" and upgraded with better facial rigging.
The deadline was fairly safe, which allowed for more detailed and fluid animation, and also for exploration and tinkering with different ideas, like the 2D infinite loop intro and outro.
